RHS Show Cardiff

Alan Flexman offered to paint a cottage back-drop to the stand and members contributed plants which were assembled and added-to by John and Helen Brooks of Rhoslwyn Plants of Silian, near Lampeter, who also kindly provided plants for our display.

Setting up the stand the day before took longer than anticipatedd but the final result was met with real enthusiasm when the show opened to the public

Friday was very wet, but gardeners are a determined lot and our first visitor joined the CGS on the spot! The Lord mayor and Mayoress of Cardiff remarked on our attractive display, as did many other visitors, who also took photographs.

The weather improved over the weekend, with the final day (Sunday) in glorius sunshine. It was very enjoyable talking to so many people and nineteen members joined the CGS as a result of visiting our stand.

Special thanks to John and Helen Brooks, who also helped to man the stand; Joyce and Allan Flexman who provided plants, manned the stand and painted the splendid backdrop. Thanks also to Carol Greenhalgp and Pat hemsley for providing plants and to our colleagues in the South Wales Group of the CGS who assisted in manning the stand.
